This Privacy Policy explains how Maika Movement Inc ("Maika Movement," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (maikamovement.com) and our mobile application Absorbed.

Our approach to privacy is simple. We collect as little as possible, we keep what we collect on your device whenever we can, and we never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

Through the website: If you join our newsletter, we collect your email address. That is the only information we ask for on this site.

Through the Absorbed app: The app does not require an account. It does not collect personal identifiers. Your scan history, saved products, and onboarding answers are stored locally on your device, not on our servers.

Camera and photos: When you use the scanning feature, the app accesses your camera to read product labels and barcodes. Images are processed to extract ingredient information and are not stored or transmitted to our servers.

2. Third-party services

To identify products and ingredients, the app may send a barcode or product reference, not images and not personal data, to the following services:

Open Food Facts, an open community database of food and cosmetic products.

SerpAPI, used as a fallback for retrieving product images.

When subscription features launch, payment processing will be handled by RevenueCat and Stripe. We will not have access to your full payment card details.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and improve the Absorbed app, to send occasional product updates if you have subscribed to our newsletter, and to respond when you contact us.

We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share your information with anyone except as required by law.

4. How we protect information

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold. The most effective protection, however, is structural. Most of your data never leaves your device.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of marketing communications. To exercise any of these rights, email withlove@absorbed.app.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.

6. Children's privacy

Absorbed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. International users

Maika Movement Inc operates from the United States. If you are accessing the site or app from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
